Join us this May for a very special live online event with Steve Johnson, the acclaimed creature designer and special effects artist whose work helped shape the look and feel of Ghostbusters and many other iconic films.
Hosted by Claire Bueno and Anthony Bueno, this 2.5-hour session focuses on the creative and technical craft behind creature design during one of the most exciting eras of practical filmmaking.
Steve’s work spans decades of film history, but for this event we’ll be concentrating on his involvement within the Ghostbusters universe, exploring the design thinking, fabrication processes and artistic decisions that helped bring supernatural characters to life on screen.
From early sketches to final on-set execution, Steve will share insight into what it really takes to design creatures that feel believable, memorable and emotionally resonant.
As always, there will be a live audience Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask Steve your own questions directly.
Beyond Ghostbusters, Steve Johnson’s career includes creature and special effects work across a wide range of major productions, further establishing him as one of the leading creative voices in practical effects.
